DICV takes legal action to halt 'unauthorised' production of BharatBenz spares

ChennaiDaimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) of Oragadam, near Chennai, a subsidiary of Germany’s Daimler AG, has successfully pursued and prosecuted two manufacturing units in North India, specifically in Ghaziabad and New Delhi, found manufacturing and selling unauthorised spare parts under the BharatBenz brand name.

 The company announced this in a statement referring to the Delhi High Court passing an ‘Ex-Parte interim order1’ against both companies for manufacturing and selling spares bearing the Bharat Benz mark and operating an 'unauthorised domain' of the brand name. Following the order, a courtroom appointed commissioner undertook a search of the premises of both corporations. During the searches, several products were seized, including torque rod bushes, 'V' rod bushes, bearings and oil seals.
