UK / Spain - Hispacold of Seville since April this year has, for the first time been delivering it's electrical air conditioning unit with reversible heat pump to Alexander Dennis Ltd in Falkirk, Scotland for fitment in its BYD E400 EVfull electric double decker bus. Representatives at Busworld last month explained the units were bespoke for ADL. 36 units have been built and delivered to Metroline London in the second quarter this year; the units consist of two heat pump systems, one for the driver and one for the passenger area. Hispacold says that it during the last years it has won significant business for its current electrical HVAC systems and now has more than 300 units (321) in operation. At Busworld, Hispacold announced a new EN line of electric systems, it says are more efficient, environmentally-friendly, and quieter than its predecessors, and that these can cover all electromobility needs in city and intercity buses and coaches from 9 to 24 meters in length, for all climates and/or environments. Customers include Irizar, Van Hool, Solaris and ADL. It has more than 200 units on order waiting delivery mainly to OEM customers selling in the UK, Spain, France, Belgium and Germany. Hispacold has also announced a brand new unit called Breeze, which is much lighter and more efficient (see separate article in this issue), electric variants of which (Breeze 100e and 200e) are due to go into production from Q4, 2020.
