Meritor opens new assembly and R&D centre in Mysore

Mysore / USA - Meritor India Ltd has inaugurated an axle assembly facility and research and development centre at Automotive Axles in Mysore. Automotive Axles is a joint venture between Meritor Inc and the Kalyani Group that manufactures drive and non-drive axles, front steer axles, specialty and defence axles besides drum and disc brakes and suspensions.

The new assembly facility, which represents an investment of USD36.5m, expands Meritor India’s production capacity by 25 per cent, equipping it to better serve customers in the commercial vehicle as well as the off-highway and defence sectors. The research and development centre is to  focus on end-to-end testing and validation of Meritor’s domestic and global product solutions.
