UK / China - The importers of Yutong coaches and buses, Pelican Bus & Coach, a division of Pelican Engineering Co Ltd of Castleford, UK has sold the first Yutong TCe12 all electric 12m,18t gvw coach to Westway Coach Services Ltd of West Molesey: It is also the first full electric zero emission coach to be sold in the UK. Announcing this at the Coach & Bus Show in Birmingham last month, Pelican pointed out this vehicle is already in service in Paris where more than 50 equivalent vehicles have been in operation for the last two years.

The TCe12 carries 46 passengers and comes with front and centre passenger doors. The centre door and floor section are designed to allow the fitment of a slot in wheelchair lift if required. The electric drive line and control system is identical to that used in the E10, E12 and airport buses. The 258Kwh battery will allow operators a range of about 200 miles on a full charge. It can be charged with either a 60Kwh, 90Kwh or 120Kwh DC charger making a full charge possible in less than two hours.
