Gurugram - Rivigo Service Pvt Ltd (Rivigo) of Gurugram, is a new a technology-enabled logistics company that is providing a service to drivers to enable them to transfer trucks and loads to other drivers to carry the load onwards to its destination, so to allow the first driver to return to his / her home at night. Rivigo has launched its patented Relay-as-a-Service (RaaS)1, which is an aggregator platform which collates driver information on a given route to allow truck drivers to operate in relays, to transfer goods at designated relay pitstops and to the distance travelled by the driver in a given period within a given range.
This platform has been in operation undergoing further development for the past five years. Currently, Rivigo has connected 30,000 truck drivers, all of whom are enrolled in this application; it plans to enrol a million drivers within the next seven to eight years. Rivigo states a relay trucking operation like the Indian railway operations, can reduce the transit time, enhanced asset utilisation, reduce accidents, and more importantly ensure the driver is able to return at night like many other people in society.
