Tata Motors to supply 300 electric buses to Ahmedabad BRTS

Mumbai - Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, India has been awarded a contract to supply 300 electric buses by Ahmedabad Janmarg Ltd (AJL), a subsidiary of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, which has responsibility for operating the BRTS buses.

Tata Motors is to supply the Tata Urban 9m Electric1 bus model, which is to run on Ahmedabad’s BRTS corridor. These buses will be deployed under the OPEX model2 and Tata Motors is to be responsible for providing a turnkey solution, which includes charging infrastructure installation and vehicle repair and maintenance.
