Tata Steel develops Valast 450 – abrasion resistant steel strip for the tipper market

UK / The Netherlands - Tata Steel Europe of London, UK is now manufacturing an abrasion resistant steel called Valast 450 specially developed for the construction industry involving rugged applications such as tipper bodies for trucks and trailers, bodies on refuse collection vehicles and excavator buckets.
Tata Steel claims Valast 450 has a superior surface quality when compared with conventional abrasion resistant plate products: Rolled at Tata Steel’s state-of-the-art facility in IJmuiden, The Netherlands, and ‘cut to length’ on some of Europe’s most powerful de-coilers in Maastricht and South Wales, Valast offers consistent dimensional tolerances, flatness and outstanding quality finish.
