NefAZ starts production of 16.5m curtainsider semi-trailer

Russia – The Neftekamsk Auto Plant (NefAZ), a subsidiary of PJSC KamAZ, in the autumn last year started production of an extended curtainsider semi-trailer, NEFAZ-93341-0300205-08, with a length of 16.5m.
In Russia the permitted length of a combination is considerably longer than in Europe (EU 16.5m combination, 13.6m semi-trailer maximum length) at 20m. This use of extended semi-trailers increases the volume or space from 91 cubic metres (cu m) to 110 cu m, states NefAZ, and boosts a European palette capacity per trailer from 33 to 40. The other advantage is increased profitability from greater efficiency and lower carbon emissions per journey.
