Isuzu Motors to take over UD Trucks from Sweden’s Volvo Group

Sweden / Japan - The Volvo Group of Gothenburg, Sweden has agreed to sell its Japanese subsidiary, UD Trucks of Ageo, Saitama prefecture to Isuzu Motors Ltd of Tokyo, Japan in a deal worth a reported USD2.3bn, as the fast evolving global commercial vehicle market continues to put huge investment demands on the industry.

Following the initial announcement in early January (see T&BB January issue), where Volvo and Isuzu said they would be working to collaborate closely in the future and work towards disposal of the UD Trucks to Isuzu, more details have emerged.
