India - Rigid truck sales fall sharply in Q4 2019-20

India - Sales of medium- and heavy-duty rigid trucks (7.5t gvw and above) in India witnessed a vast contraction of 61.5% in the fourth quarter (Q4) of FY2019-20 to register just 30,973 units, down from 80,355 units during the same quarter of the previous year (2018-19).

Exports of rigid trucks fell by 62.6% to 3,244 units in Q4/2019-20 from 8,673 units in the same quarter of the previous year. Production of rigid trucks decreased by 64.4% to 29,599 units from 83,199 units in the Q4 of the year 2018-19. All segments contributed to these performance reductions.
