Optare partners with Arcola Energy to launch new hydrogen fuel double deck bus

UK - The Optare Group Ltd of Sherburn in Elmet, UK (a majority-owned subsidiary of Ashok-Leyland) last month announced the development and launch of the Metrodecker H2; a hydrogen bus fuel-cell bus built on the Optare Metrodecker EV double deck bus platform.

The new hydrogen bus has been developed in partnership with zero-emission systems engineering integration company, Arcola Energy Ltd of London. Metrodecker H2 incorporates a hydrogen fuel cell powerpack developed by Arcola Energy as a direct replacement for the battery powerpack in the Metrodecker EV.
