Russia - LCV sales in Russia remain flat in first quarter

Russia – In the first quarter of 2020 (Q1/2020), Russia registered 22,342 new light commercial vehicles (vehicles up to 5t gross vehicle weight (gvw)), which was fractionally up (+0.6%) on the same period last year, according to LLC Avtostat Info. Sales of domestic brands collectively contracted by 2.8% to 14,950 units, while registrations of foreign brands grew by 8.3% to 7,392 units.

GAZ’s sales accounted for half of all new registrations with sales of 10,411 units, which was 0.6% down on the previous year’s quarter. The GAZelle NEXT model range made up more than half of them at 5,769 units, a rise of 3.7%. Sales of UAZ fell by 21.7% to 2,897 units.
