Sweden / Norway - Norwegian food wholesaler, ASKO, as part of a three-year framework agreement with Scania from 2020 to 2022 – plans to order up to 75 battery electric trucks to achieve its goal of having an emission free fleet of trucks by 2026.

Scania AB of Södertälje, Sweden (a Traton Group company) states it has had a long-standing collaboration in delivering high-performance trucks and based on that close relationship, the two companies are jointly exploring new electrification technologies. Earlier this year, ASKO started operations with four hydrogen powered fuel cell electric Scania trucks (see T&BB February 2020 edition) and in February, ASKO added two battery electric Scania distribution trucks to its fleet.
