Trailar solar panel kit sales take off in 2019

UK - Trailar of Oldham, which supplies and fit solar kits for fitting on the roofs of trucks, trailers and buses has announced delivery and fit of more than 1,000 vehicles globally in its three years of operations. Announcing its customers are worldwide, located in for example, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, the UK and mainland Europe, it says vehicles fitted with the TRAILAR system in three years of operation has realized an average of 5% fuel saving compared to non-solar vehicles running under similar conditions. A corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions of over 4%  was also achieved in the same three year period. Initial trials recently with Flixbus (February 2020), Germany’s largest coach operator, boasts fuel savings of up to 7%.

The company, which was established in 2016, said 2019 had seen it announce new solutions for the 3.5t refrigerated van and single and double deck trailer markets, and version 3.0 of its Smart Charge Controller. It has also established firm supply contracts with several well-known operators such as DHL Supply Chain vehicles in South Africa and for DHL Freight and FlixBus in Germany.
