Ryze signs H2 transport contract for HFC DD buses

UK – As part of a fully integrated solution promoting hydrogen fuel double decks, Ryze Hydrogen, a Runcorn-based business formed by Jo Bamford, who also recently formed the Bamford Bus Company to acquire Northern Ireland bus builder, Wrightbus from administration in 2019, has  signed a three-year contract with Suttons Tankers to transport bulk hydrogen gas to different locations in the UK, starting with London from September 2020.

Transport for London is scheduled to introduce 20 hydrogen-fuelled fuel cell double deck buses later this year. Other cities said to taking hydrogen-fuelled buses include Aberdeen, Belfast, and Dublin. Negotiations with Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Brighton, Glasgow, and Edinburgh are ongoing.
