TK and BPW combine resources to develop zero-emission power source for refrigerated trailers

Belgium / GermanyThermo King Europe of Brussels, Belgium (a division of the Thermo King brand owned by Trane Technologies) and BPW Group of Wiehl, Germany have announced a collaboration to develop a new economic and ecological refrigerated trailer solution using regenerated energy from the trailer axles while braking.

The companies said they have combined their research and development expertise to transform the way refrigerated trailers are powered. Since autumn 2019, the companies say they have worked together to create a sustainable power solution for refrigerated trailers, which, they state: “… will not only be environmentally friendly but also bring transport companies substantial cost savings.”
