Volvo Penta develops EV drivetrain and systems for Rosenbauer

Sweden / Austria / Germany / UAEAB Volvo Penta of Gothenburg, the marine and industrial powertrain division of the Volvo Group, has developed an electric driveline for fitment in a new fire truck built by fire service vehicle engineers, Rosenbauer Group of Leonding, Austria.

Volvo Penta says it has been collaborating with its longstanding customer, Rosenbauer, to develop an electric driveline over many years for the platform and industrialized version of the company’s Concept Fire Truck (CFT), known as Revolutionary Technology (RT) – see CFT* details below.
