GAZ unveils new medium-duty Valdai truck with Foton COE cab

Russia / China - Gorky Auto Plant (GAZ) of Nizhny Novgorod has presented the first examples of a new medium-duty city truck, the new Valdai NEXT generation.
The vehicle, which has a gross vehicle weight of 6.7 tons, falls between two other models of the GAZelle NEXT (4.6 t) and the GAZon NEXT (8.7t). Unlike the semi-bonneted first-generation Valdai model, which was produced between 2004 and 2015, the Valdai NEXT cab uses the cab-over-engine (COE) cabin of China’s Foton Ollin CTS truck. GAZ says use of this chassis has increased the manoeuvrability of the truck and produced an increase in the cargo space length by 800mm.
