UK / France - July saw the arrival in the UK of the first right hand drive all-electric truck from Renault Trucks UK & Ireland of Warwick, UK – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renault Trucks SAS of Lyon, France.

The so called D Wide Z.E. is a 6x2 Renault Trucks chassis cab model, which is plated at 26t but in the future it will be 27t via the Alternative Energies Dispensation, once finalised by the UK authorities. The vehicle has been configured to suit a refuse body, Renault Trucks explained, as by using the on-board electric PTO (Epto), it is able to work with most sector body builders. In future, the range is to be available also for distribution applications.
