Iochpe-Maxion to close Akron plant to consolidate North American operations

Brazil / USA / Mexico – Steel wheel and steel components producer, Iochpe-Maxion SA* of São Paulo, Brazil is consolidating its North American steel wheels manufacturing operations from three plants to two.

The consolidation means the closure of Maxion Wheels’ commercial vehicle steel wheels plant in Akron, Ohio by the end of the year. Production will continue at facilities in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and in Sedalia, USA.
