UK / Ireland - Ecobat Battery Technologies Ltd* of Shrewsbury, UK acquired Easystart Batteries Ireland of Crumlin, Ireland in August 2020. Easystart Batteries Ireland is a well-established business serving a range of businesses throughout Northern Ireland and the  Republic of Ireland. Ecobat said the acquisition would be hugely positive, not only for Easystart Ireland’s customers, but also for Ecobat’s customers in the area, as they would benefit from an enhanced delivery service, increased stock availability and support from a highly knowledgeable local team.

Alongside the acquisition, Ecobat says it has also opened a new branch in Northern Ireland, also  located in Crumlin, Co Antrim. This is headed by Colin Watterson who has worked in the battery industry for more than 20 years. Watterson said: “Ecobat’s acquisition of Easystart Ireland is a mutually positive opportunity. Easystart Ireland’s customers will have a greatly enhanced choice of products with the introduction of quality brands such as Lucas VARTA, Exide, Odyssey, Optima, and US batteries.”
