China - Livox Technology Co Ltd, a Shenzhen-based lidar manufacturer established 2016, is collaborating with China’s largest truck manufacturer, FAW Jiefang Automotive Co Ltd of Changchun, Jilin (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the FAW Group Corporation) and Suzhou Zhito Technology Co Ltd (a vehicle intelligence research and development company launched by FAW Jiefang) in the development, production and integration of lidar systems for facilitating autonomous driving in heavy duty trucks.

Recently, FAW Jiefang and Zhito Technology unveiled the J7 L3 super-truck, a joint development by the two companies. Partnering with Livox to add automotive-grade lidars, FAW claims the J7 L3 model is the first mass production heavy-duty truck to use lidar. They claim this historic partnership pushes truck manufacturing and logistics into the era of smart driving with the latest hardware and software.
