UK / USA / Canada - High-pressure composite and aluminium cylinder manufacturer, Luxfer Gas Cylinders* (an operating division of London-headquartered Luxfer Holdings PLC (Luxfer Group - NYSE: LXFR)) of Riverside, California, USA in Q4 of 2020 delivered bespoke hydrogen fuel systems for 15, Wrightbus double deck buses now in operation in Aberdeen** and 50 Hyundai Xcient Fuel-Cell 19t trucks.

The Luxfer G-Stor H2 hydrogen cylinders, which are made in several sizes, are manufactured in Luxfer Calgary, Canada and assembled at Luxfer’s UK base in Nottingham. In 2019, in response to growing demand for hydrogen fuel cylinders from customers across the transport sector, Luxfer Gas Cylinders invested in its alternative fuel capability by expanding capacity at its Nottingham, UK-based manufacturing facility, which now employs around 200 people. The cash injection boosted Luxfer’s alternative fuel team and has increased production over the past 12 months of bespoke CNG and hydrogen-power systems for buses and other types of commercial vehicles. The investment has also introduced ten new roles to the business, as well as introducing new manufacturing equipment.
