India - The Indian Commercial Vehicle (CV) Industry in 2020, which started the year with sales continuing to fall from the 2019 level, was then thrown into chaos with the effective closure of the marketplace because of national lockdown measures introduced in March 2020 as an endeavour to stop the spread of the coronavirus, writes Rajesh Khanna, Chief Executive Officer at RACE Innovations Pvt Ltd.

The consequence was severe disruptions to supply chains and consolidation within the CV supplier industry. It is now of paramount importance for all stakeholders in the sector to work together to embrace the change in demand within the sector caused by the downturn, but it is also equally, if not more important, to embrace the changes in transportation methods and modes to address climate change.
