Philippines - Sales of medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles shrink by more than 45%

Philippines - Sales of medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles over 5 tons gvw are estimated to have decreased by 56% year-on-year to 2,044 units in the fourth quarter of 2020 after rising by close to 20% to 4,610 units in the same period of the previous year. Full-year sales fell by almost 46% to 7,805 units from 14,439 units in 2019.

Segment leader Isuzu reported a 47% drop in full-year sales to 3,338 units last year, while second-placed Hino saw its sales fall by just under 40% to 2,214 units. Foton’s deliveries were down by less than 37% at 928 units, while Mitsubishi-Fuso’s reported a drop of 48% to 828 units.
