Thailand - Volvo Bus Thailand Company of Bangkok is looking to expand sales this year by expanding its customer base beyond the tourist industry with a new focus on coach sales to factories and state agencies for worker transportation contracts, according to a company executive, Kulkarineetham Dechchai, managing director of Volvo Bus Thailand.

The Bangkok-based distributor of buses produced by Sweden’s Volvo Group said it has been forced to diversify its customer-base in response to a sharp fall in demand from the tourism sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dechchai said sales fell to just 38 buses last year but has set a target to deliver 191 units in 2021. It has also earmarked THB400m (US$13m) for investing in new facilities.
