USA / New Zealand / The Netherlands – Fuel cell truck manufacturing start up, Hyzon Motors Inc of Rochester, NY, USA has been selected by green hydrogen generator, Hiringa Energy Ltd of New Plymouth, New Zealand, to build and supply Hiringa with zero emission heavy goods vehicles.

The hydrogen fuel cell-powered trucks, which are scheduled to be assembled at Hyzon’s European facility in Winschoten, The Netherlands (a recently formed joint venture with Holthausen Clean Technology of Hoogezand) are to be manufactured in full compliance with local New Zealand requirements. The first batch of trucks are expected to enter service in New Zealand by the end of 2021. By 2026, as part of the agreement with Hiringa, Hyzon says it plans to have up to 1,500 fuel cell trucks on the road in New Zealand.
