USA / Australia - Hyzon Motors Inc, a global supplier of hydrogen fuel cell powered commercial vehicles, based in Rochester, New York (a subsidiary of Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies Inc of Singapore) has entered a strategic alliance with Australian energy supplier, Viva Energy of Melbourne Australia.

Viva Energy and Hyzon plan to work together to provide zero-emission vehicles coupled with hydrogen refuelling solutions to customers in Australia, and thereby deliver a complete turn-key hydrogen transport solution. Viva Energy says it has committed to make a ‘small’ strategic investment of USD4m in Hyzon as part of capital raising and listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange, via Hyzon’s proposed merger with Decarbonisation Plus Acquisition Corporation of Menlo Park, California – a company described as one of several ‘blank check companies formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses.’
