Brazil - Iveco América do Sul Ltda at the start of this year announced it was hiring 478 temporary workers for its industrial complex in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais to expand commercial vehicle production to meet demand. This is in addition to 272 new employees hired in October last year. This followed an increase in Iveco truck sales in 2020 by some 30% in a market segment that fell by 11%.

Márcio Querichelli, general director of Iveco América do Sul, said this personnel expansion prepares the company for the challenges ahead and anticipated increase in truck demand, mainly in the retail, agri-business, and vocational truck segments. He pointed out that it has made strong investments in its production capabilities and its product range in recent years. Iveco product portfolio in Brazil includes models of the Daily, Tector, Hi-Road and Hi-Way range.
