Reidi Group buys assets of former trailer giant, Guerra S.A., and plans to restart production in Q4-21

Brazil - LIH, a division of Group I. Reidi & Cia Ltda of Cascavel, Paraná State, which also controls AB Rodofort S.A., a manufacturer of trailers and truck bodies based in Sumaré, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, has bought the operational assets of Guerra S.A. of Caxias do Sul, which had been Brazil’s second largest trailer and body builder, until its bankruptcy in 2017. LIH says it intends to invest some BRA10m (USD1.75m) to reopen the Caxias de Sul (RS) plants ready to start production in the last quarter of 2021. When production begins, the goal is for the Guerra plant to work in a complementary way to the Rodofort operation, which is based in Sumaré (SP), so that both can jointly produce, sell, and deliver around 2,400 trailers and truck bodies this year.
