Volvo Trucks soon to have electric trucks available across entire range in Europe

Sweden – Volvo Trucks Corporation says the time is right for a rapid upswing in electrification of heavy road transport vehicles. This outlook is based on the ability of Volvo’s electric trucks to meet a broad variety of transport needs. It says, in the EU, for example, almost half of all truck transport operations could be electrified soon. Volvo said this trend was evidenced by large national and international transport buyers showing strong interest in electric vehicles, which was being driven by several factors, including their own ambitious climate goals, as well as consumer demand for decarbonisation and cleaner transports.

Commencement of sales of electric Volvo FH and Volvo FM models means electrified transport is now possible not only for urban areas but also for regional traffic between cities. In addition, the new electric Volvo FMX model seeks to make construction transport operations both quieter and cleaner.
