NefAZ adds LNG power to city bus portfolio

Russia – The Neftekamsk Auto Plant (NefAZ) based in Neftekamsk - a KamAZ subsidiary - has added a liquefied natural gas-powered (LNG) version to its NefAZ-5299 low floor big city bus range. While NefAZ has been making CNG buses since 2012 this is the first time it has manufactured a gas bus using LNG.

The NefAZ-5299-40-57 LNG city bus, which was first unveiled at the COMTRANS show in September 2019, a year later received type approval certification and just recently the first vehicles have been delivered for trials in the city of St. Petersburg. Subject to the trials being successful, NefAZ expects to start series production this year.
