Schmitz Cargobull to open new semi-trailer and rigid truck body production facility in UK

Germany / UK – Europe’s largest semi-trailer builder, Schmitz Cargobull AG (SCB) of Horstmar, Germany is in the process of establishing a new facility in Manchester, UK to build customised vehicles for UK and Irish operators.

This announcement comes some ten years after closure of its previous UK assembly plant in Harelaw, when it said production requirements for the UK would be fulfilled by its other group manufacturing facilities from Germany or one of its other seven European plants.
