Foton to launch new Auman semi-heavy truck range in Brazil in 2022

Brazil / China – Starting in 2022, Foton Aumark do Brasil of Várzea Paulista, São Paulo has announced it will launch a range of semi-heavy trucks under the Auman brand name. Initially, the company plans to sell two models of imported fully built-up semi-heavy trucks, with total gross weights (GVW) of between 17 and 25 tons.

Foton Aumark do Brasil says it will pursue a similar strategy in Brazil of its semi-heavy trucks as it has with its lighter truck range. In other words, it will start with the import of complete vehicles from China and sell them direct through its own or associated dealerships. Then, depending on its progress with sales, it will thereafter consider importing SKD- and CKD-kits of the semi-heavy truck rigid models from China for assembly in Brazil. This was its strategy for its range of light 3.5t Foton model and medium-duty 6, 9 and 11-ton gvw Citytruck models, starting back in 2012; the 3.5t truck model it now assembles at a plant in Rio Grande do Sul state – see more details on Foton and Citytruck truck assembly below.
