New Volvo FMX MAX 58t gvw truck offers more load capacity for mining and construction operations

Brazil - Volvo do Brasil Veículos Ltda of São José dos Pinhais, has launched the FMX MAX, its new vocational truck model for mining and heavy construction applications on the Brazilian market. With new rear axle, new front and rear suspensions and higher performance brakes, it offers a much higher payload, than the FMX model, which it is also offering to the market. It has a gross vehicle weight of 58 tonnes in its 8x4 version, which represents a 10% increase (or six more tons) in load capacity, Volvo claims.

The FMX MAX has engine options of 460, 500 and 540hp and is also offered in 6x4 and 6x6 configurations. Offering a payload of up to 38 tonnes rigid configuration and a pulling combination capacity of up to 225 tons gross vehicle weight, the new model was developed in partnership with heavy-duty mining equipment division, Volvo Construction Equipment.
