Brazil - The National Association of Bus Manufacturers (Fabus) of São Paulo, is forecasting the worst year this century for the Brazilian bus industry, with performance comparable only to 1999, when only 12,098 bodies were produced.

Ruben Antonio Bisi, president of the National Association of Bus Manufacturers, remarked: “This may be, without a doubt, the worst year of this century with a lower performance than in 2016, when 14,111 bodies were manufactured. We have gone back 20 years, with more than 50% of idle capacity in the factories. Not even the demand of the charter segment can prevent such a bad result for 2021." Note: The charter segment in Brazil tends to be for factory / agricultural worker transport.
