Scania truck sales in Brazil up 115% in the first half of 2021

Brazil - Scania Latin America Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo reported record domestic truck sales growth of 115% for the first six months of 2021 at 7,794 units compared with 3,625 units and sees the strong demand continuing in the second half of the year.

According to Silvio Munhoz, sales director for Scania's solutions in Brazil, up to May, Scania was the first in the heavy truck category and was the consecutive leader in the months of March, April, and May. “Our monthly license volumes are at levels not seen since 2013, which was our best year in the country's history. In addition, our share rose from 18.6% to 25.9%, the highest in the last three years. While the market was up 71%, we grew by almost twice the volume of heavy vehicles.”
