TUPY, Westport and AVL collaborate over hydrogen ICE development

Brazil / Canada / Austria – TUPY SA1 of Joinville, SC, Brazil (a specialist in casting and machining of highly engineered structural components), Westport Fuel Systems Inc of Vancouver, Canada (an expert in fuel injection systems and technologies) and AVL List GmbH of Graz, Austria (a specialist in development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry), have announced a collaboration to develop a hydrogen (H2) internal combustion engine (ICE) for heavy goods transportation.

The direct collaboration aims at combining advanced material and casting technologies with the latest H2 ICE technology using high pressure direct injection (HPDI).
