Hon Hai and Kaohsiung Bus to build electric buses in Taiwan

Taiwan - Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, the electric vehicle subsidiary of Taiwan’s Hon Hai Technology Group – also widely known locally as Apple Inc’s main iPhone contract manufacturer, Foxconn – has announced a partnership with local energy company, North-Star International Company and bus operator, Kaohsiung Bus Company to develop a battery-powered bus transportation network.
Foxtron and Kaohsiung Bus Company are working together to build the first electric bus (E-Bus) to be based on Foxtron’s MIH commercial vehicle platform. The first models are expected to be medium-duty buses, but the platform is scheduled to be extended later to include larger buses.
