MFS adds TITAN hybrid system to renewable products portfolio

UK– The new Renewables Division of Marshall Fleet Solutions of Cambridge, UK, has announced the TITAN hybrid system that can be fitted to power any refrigerated unit, tail lift, or other vehicle-mounted electrically powered applications on small trucks, LCVs and HGVs. Through a combination of solar panels utilising the entirety of a vehicle’s available roof space and KERS to generate electricity under braking, the TITAN system charges an on-board lithium battery which provides power to the refrigerator unit.

The TITAN product range offers two variants, a Solar-Kinetic option employing both solar and energy recovery, and a solar-only option which is better suited to vehicles with a limited daily mileage. The batteries are charged overnight or when the vehicle is not in use, with the TITAN system charging the batteries during use to ensure the refrigerated unit is receiving constant power. An advantage of this system is its one hour key-out holdover, allowing the system to remain powered during driver breaks or deliveries. Additionally, this provides a timed pulldown function for preparing the vehicle for loading in advance.
