SKF acquires signal processing company for machine data analysis

SwedenAB SKF, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based manufacturer of bearings and seals for machinery, completed its acquisition of Rubico Consulting AB of Luleå, Sweden, who specialise in signal processing. The company provides visualisations and analyses of analogue signal data, including data from machinery for use in automotive manufacture. 

Rubico Consulting’s service is to be integrated into SKF’s product offerings around the rotating shaft. The company’s technology can be used to collect and analyse data more efficiently for use in R&D, in testing, and in maintenance and repair. The company will also support SKF’s plans to develop other technologies, such as bearings fitted with fibre-optic sensors.
