BrazilThe JCA Group, a Brazilian specialist in transport, logistics and mobility located in São Paulo, in agreement with Scania Latin America Ltda has announced it plans to start testing with a Scania gas-powered coach powered on interstate routes, starting early next year.

The coach features the K 320 4x2 chassis fitted with a dedicated Otto cycle gas engine capable of operating on either natural gas or biomethane, or a mixture of both. The Scania DC09 engine has a displacement of 9.3 litres, has a maximum power output of 320 hp at 1,900 rev / min and maximum torque of 1,600 Nm between 1,100 - 1,400 rev / min. It offers an engine PTO of 600Nm. The engine has a factory warranty, uses proven reliable technology, and offers consistent diesel-like performance and power, states Scania; and it's quieter. Security is complete in case of an accident or explosion. The cylinders and valves are certified by Inmetro (in compliance with the law) and in case of a fire or collision, Scania states the gas escapes, the gas releases into the atmosphere and dissolves without danger of explosion.
