By Jose Secco - 1st October 2021

BrazilMercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda. of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, announced that bus and coach sales in Brazil in 2022 could reach 18,500 units, an increase of 35% above the 13,000 vehicles estimated for 2021. Out of the entire automotive industry, the bus and coach segment has been the worst affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

According to Roberto Leoncini, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales for Trucks and Buses, the estimates are based on the return on investments planned for next year in the city bus segment, dammed up in the last two years because of the fall in customer demand, as well as signs of improvement in the coach segment as people start travelling around the country once again.
