VWCO wins bid to supply 2,500 buses to the Caminho da Escola program

Brazil - Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) of Resende, Rio de Janeiro, has won a new federal tender for the Caminho da Escola Program to provide buses to schools across the country, especially in less accessible regions. The tender involves 2,500 units featuring the Volksbus 15,190 ODR - ORE3 chassis.
The Volksbus 15,190 ODR - ORE 3 has a passenger capacity of 59 and is designed to ensure the highest level of comfort and safety for students, easier maintenance, and lower operating cost. It is a 4x2 traction design and all are fitted with a wheelchair lift (Mobile Seat Device (DPM)). The chassis are produced at VWCO's development and manufacturing center in Resende, in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
