Volvo Trucks receives largest order for FM Electric to date

Sweden / DenmarkVolvo Trucks Corporation, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has received an order for 100 electric trucks from DFDS A/S, a shipping and logistics company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, making it the largest such order placed with Volvo and one of the biggest orders for electric trucks to date. Initial deliveries are expected for the end of next year. 

DFDS has ordered 100 units of the Volvo FM Electric, which has a gross combination weight of 44 tonnes and a maximum power output of 490 kW. Its battery system has a maximum capacity of 540 kWh, providing a range of up to 300 km, and can be fully recharged in approximately two and a half hours. The trucks were purchased through a tailored finance plan provided by Volvo Financial Services, and they will be employed in both short- and long-distance journeys in Europe. DFDS’s purchase was made as part of the company’s plan to reduce CO2 emissions in its business operations by 45% before 2030.
