Bridgestone generates solar energy at tyre factory in Thailand

Japan / Thailand – Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing Thailand Co., a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp., based in Tokyo, Japan, has added solar panels to the roof of its manufacturing facility in Chonburi.

Directly powering the manufacturing plant, Bridgestone’s first phase of the plan has seen the company install 2,160 individual solar panels with a peak output of 1MW. The firm will complete phase two of the project in 2024, which will see an additional 4MW of solar power installed at the factory while also sourcing 40% of its grid supply from renewable sources.
