Hiringa Energy starts construction on hydrogen refuelling network in New Zealand

New Zealand – Hiringa Energy Ltd, based in New Plymouth, New Zealand, has announced the start of construction on its first four high-capacity green hydrogen refuelling stations for heavy-duty vehicles. The company plans to bring 24 more hydrogen stations across New Zealand over the next 4-5 years.

Representing an investment of NZD50 million (USD35m), the initial phase will see four refuelling stations installed in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Palmerston North. The project is supported by a NZD16 million grant from the New Zealand government as part of the COVID-19 recovery fund.
