Bus and coach sales enjoy surge in demand

India – Turning to the individual segments, sales of the intermediate medium-duty buses (ICV: 7.5 tons - 12 tons gvw) increased by 232.1% from 461 units in the first half of FY 2020-21 to 1,531 units in the first half for FY 2021-22. Production of ICV range increased by 184.3% to 2,985 units in 1H of FY 2021 from 1050 units; exports grew by 81.6%.

The medium-duty bus segment (12t<gvw≤ 14.5t) continued to decrease: First half sales fell by 39.6% to 119 units compared with 197 units in same period of the last year.
