Indian tractor’s sales begun 2021 fiscal year with immense growth

India – The erratic behaviour of tractor sales in India continued during the second quarter of FY 2021-22 with sales growth of 397% to register 5,710 units compared with 1,149 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY 2020-21). Tractor production increased by 467.2% overall from 1,046 units to 5,933 units and export sales up by 1115% to 243 units (20).

Even the smallest tractor segment in volume terms - light-weight tractors (26.4 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) – saw sales rise by 425.2% to 751 units in the Q2 of FY 2021-22 from just 143 units in the Q2 of FY 2020. Exports registered an increase of 600% while production increased by 225.9%.
