VECV launches new intercity standard and sleeper coach

Eicher 6016 R LPO intercity Coach
Pithampur – Commercial vehicle manufacturer, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV) of Pithampur - the joint-venture subsidiary of Sweden’s Volvo AB and Eicher Motors Ltd of Gurugram (New Delhi), India – has launched a new range of 12.4 m intercity coaches named Eicher 6016 R LPO. The new range is available in two models - Coach and Sleeper - while the fully air-conditioned Coach, seats forty-three passengers with 11.3 cu.m luggage space, the Sleeper version, offers thirty luxury berths and offers 6.5 cu.m of luggage space.
The Eicher 6016R LPO is a complete factory-built bus of which the driveline and chassis is to be built at the VECV plant at Pithampur, Indore, and the body at Volvo Buses body building facility in Hoskote near Bengaluru. The facility previously only built Volvo Bus bodies, but it will now also manufacture bodies for Eicher front-engine luxury buses too. Priced at a maximum of just USD 54,000, these buses are positioned below the Volvo buses, which cost more than USD 135,000.
